Presentations
The WECHCPC staff and NPO are knowledgeable in a variety of safety topics and are available to conduct presentations at your request. Whether you represent a special interest group, a school, community programming, or the like, we would be happy to help you address the concerns of your membership or to educate you on the role Community Policing plays in the community. The CPC can also combine safety presentations and educational seminars with other in-house outreach services.
Combined topics can include:
For children – “The Police are Your Friends” and Child Find Fingerprinting and ID Booklets
For cyclists – “Rules of the Road & Resources” and Bicycle Engraving/Anti-Theft Techniques
If you would like more information or to schedule a special presentation please call (604) 717-2924, or e-mail info@wechcpc.com.
Basic Safety Presentations
These presentations are designed to address general crime and safety issues. Community Policing, Workplace Safety for Women, Apartment Safety, How to deal with Aggressive Panhandling, and Police Reporting In Vancouver are some of the topics currently available. We can also make customized presentations.
Child Safety Presentations
Child Safety topics can range from discussions about “Stranger Danger” to Bullying. Presentations can be tailored to the age group being addressed and are presented in a language to which young people can relate. Volunteers assist with all presentations and the CPC has an assortment of child friendly activities, reading materials, and take-away merchandise to keep everyone entertained.
ESL Presentations
The WECHCPC offers free ‘Personal Safety’ presentations to ESL students in the West End and Coal Harbour communities to better protect those who are new to Vancouver. These presentations are led by a uniformed member of the Vancouver Police Department or a staff member from the West End-Coal Harbour Community Policing Centre, which gives the students the opportunity to interact positively with a law enforcement official as well as staff and volunteers from their local Community Policing Centre. All students are given literature in their first language to aid their comprehension of the ‘Personal Safety’ presentation. To view the brochure, please click on your desired language:

Seniors Presentations
The CPC currently conducts safety presentations for Seniors on an ongoing basis. The presentations are designed to alleviate the fear of victimization amongst Seniors by delivering topical and targeted information about crime issues that are most prevalent amongst the elderly. Ten presentations are conducted during the year, in different venues throughout the West End, and include handouts and other safety materials.
Future presentations which are open to the public can be found on our News & Events page.
