CPC Management
The West End-Coal Harbour Community Policing Centre is managed by volunteers under the direction of two full time employees. A Board of Directors governs the operations and the Vancouver Police Department assigns a Police Constable who assists with the programming within the catchment area. This Constable is called the Neighbourhood Police Officer or NPO.
Volunteers
The WECHCPC currently has volunteers from all over the lower mainland who are interested in making a difference in a community that matters to them. Applicants to Law Enforcement and First Responder departments find volunteering a great asset to their future career choice. If you have a few hours a month to spare and are interested in making a difference, please visit the Volunteer section for more information about the volunteering criteria.

Neighbourhood Police Officer
The NPO for the WECHCPC is Constable Jason Doucette. Jason was raised on the East Coast of Canada, before moving to Vancouver where he received a Diploma in Criminology at Douglas College and then a Bachelor of Arts degree from Simon Fraser University in 2000 with a joint major in Criminology and Psychology.
He joined the Vancouver Police Department in February 2001. After graduating from the JIBC, Jason patrolled the Westside of Vancouver (Chief’s Commendation for arrest of armed bank robber) and then the downtown business district (Inspector Commendation for arrest of combative serial bank robber who just robbed 12th bank) for a couple of years. Jason was selected to join a surveillance team in 2004 and spent the next three years focusing on property crime, the open air drug market and problem premises (Inspectors Commendation for million dollar drug seizure, Unit Citation for targeting businesses taking advantage of drug addicted property crime offenders). In 2007 Jason joined the Investigative Section of the Vancouver Police as a detective. This was the beginning of six years spent primarily investigating serious crimes as a member of the VPD’s General Investigations Unit, Major Crime Robbery Assault Unit, the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit – BC, and the RCMP’s Federal Serious Organized Crime Unit.
Jason returned to patrol in June 2014 in the downtown before joining the Public Affairs Unit as a Media Relations Officer in September 2016 where he represented the department until 2019. He has been the Neighbourhood Policing Officer at the WECHCPC since May of 2019.
