Do Your Part from the Start
Neighbourhood disorder problems can become much worse than they otherwise would be if they are not dealt with as soon as they occur. This is referred to as the Broken Windows Theory. If the window is not fixed as soon as possible, the “bad element” in that neighbourhood assumes no one cares, and they move in. Conversely, if neighbourhood problems are fixed immediately, the “bad element” knows that people are aware and active in the neighbourhood and are likely to move on. The WECHCPC partners with the West End Cleanup and the West End Business Improvement Association to combat litter and graffiti removal efforts in the West End.
