Helping to Make Vancouver Canada's Safest Major City

Since 1997, the WECHCPC has been your local resource for answering the crime & safety concerns of our neighbourhood. No one knows the community better than the people who live, work, and play there. When community members join in partnership with the Vancouver Police Department, it means we can all live more safely and without fear. An active community is a safe community.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." (Margaret Mead)

The WECHCPC is driven by volunteer power; people from the community that have a personal attachment to the area and want to make it a better place for themselves and for others. Our success depends on you, your skills, your knowledge, and your experiences. Together we make a difference.

Pedestrian Safety

On average, 76 per cent more pedestrians are injured in crashes from November to January every year when conditions are dark and weather is poor compared to June to August in B.C. ICBC and community policing volunteers throughout B.C. are handing out pedestrian safety reflectors and tips at events throughout the province to help educate pedestrians about the importance of being visible to drivers in dark, fall conditions. For more information about this initiative, click the reflector above or visit the WECHCPC office for your FREE reflector.

Support the WECHCPC

The West End - Coal Harbour Community Policing Centre is a non-profit organization. We are core funded by the City of Vancouver, but our expenses reach far beyond. Without the support of the community, fundraising, and donations, our office wouldn’t be where it is today. If you would like to sponsor or donate to our organization, please contact info@wechcpc.com for more information or use the Paypal button above. Your donations help us with everything from office equipment, foot and bike patrol essentials, uniforms, and the most basic necessities such as heat and power. Thank you to everyone who supports our Centre.
