Welcome to the West End - Coal Harbour Community Policing Centre
Crime Prevention By the Community, For the Community, Through the Community
Helping to Make Vancouver Canada's Safest Major City
Since 1997, the WECHCPC has been your local resource for answering the crime & safety concerns of our neighbourhood. No one knows the community better than the people who live, work, and play there. When community members join in partnership with the Vancouver Police Department, it means we can all live more safely and without fear. An active community is a safe community.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." (Margaret Mead)
The WECHCPC is driven by volunteer power; people from the community that have a personal attachment to the area and want to make it a better place for themselves and for others. Our success depends on you, your skills, your knowledge, and your experiences. Together we make a difference.

Neighbourhood disorder problems can become much worse than they otherwise would be if they are not dealt with as soon as they occur. This is referred to as the Broken Windows Theory. If the window is not fixed as soon as possible, the “bad element” in that neighbourhood assumes no one cares, and they move in. Conversely, if neighbourhood problems are fixed immediately, the “bad element” knows that people are aware and active in the neighbourhood and are likely to move on. The WECHCPC partners with the West End Cleanup and the West End Business Improvement Association to combat litter and graffiti removal efforts in the West End. The West End - Coal Harbour Community Policing Centre is a non-profit organization. We are core funded by the City of Vancouver, but our expenses reach far beyond. Without the support of the community, fundraising, and donations, our office wouldn’t be where it is today. If you would like to sponsor or donate to our organization, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or use the Paypal button above. Your donations help us with everything from office equipment, foot and bike patrol essentials, uniforms, and the most basic necessities such as heat and power. Thank you to everyone who supports our Centre.
